Guide to Online Quilting Sites

The online community for quilting is vast and can offer endless inspiration. Many sites are one stop shops offering tutorials, videos, fabric, and blogs to help any skill level create a beautiful heirloom quilt that will be treasured for generations. There are hundreds of quilting sites on the web, but for this article I have listed my favorite five.

About.com has a large quilting section with videos, pictured demonstrations, and written instructions. This site offers hundreds of patterns for each skill level. Tutorials include understanding fabric grains, quilting notions, and even sewing safety.

"Moda Bake Shop is a division of Moda Fabrics that provides online recipes which you can use with the wide range of Moda Pre-cuts. All sizes and types of projects will be featured from various designers and shops. Tutorials for various moda projects sheets will be illustrated with step by step pictures. The Missouri Star Quilting Company is an all encompassing site with video tutorials, a blog, and one of the best online fabric stores with daily deals.

Quilt Dad is a highly unusual blog in that it's ran by a male quilter. A male quilter from Brooklyn, NY, no less. A transplant to North Carolina, this happily married father of three breaks every stereotype you can think of in regards to a traditional quilter. His work is impeccable and his site fun and entertaining. He is a published pattern designer and award winning blogger.

Cluck Cluck Sew is a creative whirlwind with fun and fantastic patterns to purchase and download, tutorials, blog, and a shop. It is one of the most popular sites for quilting and can be found on numerous blog rolls.
